ImageMap Inc. is pleased to announce that on October 28, 2003 it signed
an agreement with the Ministry of Railways in Beijing China for the supply
of nine complete instrumented track geometry vehicles to be used
throughout China's railway system for the measurement of railway track
infrastructure. ImageMap Inc. will supply the measurement instrumentation
and integration of the vehicles and will work with Chinese manufacturers
Nanjing Puzhen and Changchun for the supply of the vehicles. Using
ImageMap's Laserail 3000 system, these measurement cars will operate at
160 km/h (100mph) and 200 km/h (125mph).
A signing ceremony was held in Beijing in the presence of Vice Minister
Wang, Chinese Ministry of Railways, U.S. Secretary of Commerce
Donald Evans Washington DC and US Ambassador to China
Clark Randt.
This contract is the largest to be signed in ImageMap's history. Contract
value is in excess of US$19M. Financing arrangements through the
Export-Import Bank in Washington DC which supports the financing of
exported goods and services are expected within the next four to six
weeks.
